The Michigan Hospitality Industry Employee Relief Fund, supported by the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association Educational Foundation, is designed to assist employees of Michigan's restaurant and lodging industry whoa re in need of support because they are unable to work.
Who can apply for The Michigan Hospitality Industry Employee Relief Fund?
Funds will be granted to individuals that can demonstrate need and proof of hospitality industry employment. A letter from the applicants hospitality industry employers is required with the application.
When will funds be available?
Applicants may apply for funds at any time. Awards will be granted quarterly on January 15, April 15, July 15, and October 15.

Why was The Michigan Hospitality Industry Relief Fund created?
The Relief Fund was created as a direct result of COVID-19 and the devastating impact it had on hospitality workers in Michigan. Thought the COVID-19 shutdowns, more than $3.1 million were raised and distributed to those without gainful employment. The MRLAEF understands the needs of the industry and has created a partial solution to help these hardworking, passionate employees. The MRLAEF Trustees have elected to continue to fund The Michigan Hospitality Industry Relief Fund and provide support to industry employees who are facing crisis and hardships that have resulted in an inabiltiy to work. Examples of such include, but are not limited to, long-term illness, accidental injury, a dependent with severe medical condition, natural disaster, etc.
